Artist's Comments

** Updated 11-9-06 - I updated the border to match my other most recent drawings. I also added a blur effect to the window in response to the suggestions of my fellow deviants as the way I drew it is too sharp and in focus. I think it's much better now. **

I'm happy with the image overall. It's pretty much what was in my head.

This is based on a photo by a fellow deviant who was a sweetheart and allowed me to use her photo as reference! [link] Thank you again Lauren!!! :hug: Sorry it took so long!

Wow! So much atmosphere. I envy your ability to get your blacks black. We don't get black ebony pencils here in Western Australia...in fact, we hardly get anything.....
I got confused by this pic a bit at first...I think the skeleton is too sharp to be her reflection....but the whole pic is so amazing, it really doesn't matter. Wonderful perspective too!

oh! And welcome back =D =D

so you're not sensitive eh? ok, here they come! :evillaugh:

naaa, just kidding ;)
it's an amazing drawing! the details, the shadows, the whole mood... really great!
but i do agree with ~Alene though, the skeleton is a little bit too bright to be a reflection. but that doesn't make the drawing less beautiful :)
great job! :clap:

Oh! I didn't know you were going to make her reflection a skeleton! That's so cool! This is wonderful! Very impressive!

ps....I'm glad you tried the graphite/charcoal first. Now I know what kind of trouble I'll have if I try to mix them! ;)
:iconminicow:
:jawdrop: This is just...WOW:!:
I personally hate charcoal...then again my charcoal sticks are very cheap and they don't blend well and whenever you use them they sound like fingersnails on a blackboard -cringe-
Gah...damn modem...it's not loading fast enough! ;_;

10 minutes later:
Ok...I give up. >_< Well...from what I saw from the little thumbnail it's very good! ^^;

Wonderful likeness to the original photo. You got the shadows down perfectly and the likeness of the model as well. Great work on the skeleton too - very realistic. I don't think the shiny black areas detract from the overall effect. You notice it a little bit but it doesn't make the piece any less awesome. The hand seems a little bit too small but other than that this is wonderful...i love how you did the patterns on the dress too :)
