Well, here it is! I couldn't settle on a background for what seemed like forever.I knew he'd be inside the Plant ship, but I didn't know how to portray it. I was going to have a giant plant-bulb, but there wasn't much room around Knives himself to do that.I wanted him to look like he was in an industrial area, thus the gears, and peeling finish on the metal wall. I wrote "Plant Containment" on the wall behind him, to symbolize that he is free and probably would like the irony of placing his throne in front of it.
I wasn't sure how to approach the hair because it's almost white, since he's practically an albino.It's maybe not as realistic as it coulda been, but I like it. I put him in a nice chair because I figured with his arrogant personality he would want nothing less.In the colored version, you'll see I made it royal purple with gold embroidery. I know the top of the armrest squares look slanted, but that's the way the were in my photo reference. I used his Anime uniform, because I don't own the manga and couldn't find good enough reference of his more detailed manga armor to make a faithful adaption. I designed him to mirror Vash's portrait, yet contrast it at the same time. Vash is weary yet looking up with a hopeful expression. Knives is leisurely and frowning with judgement. Knive's uniform doesn't allow for as much detail as Vash's, so he has a more detailed background. I hope you think they look good next to each other as I intended. I used Hayden Christensen again as my model as I did for Vash because they are twins, and I thought that linked them together quite well. Im not sure what the trouble was, what started all of this - the reasons all have run away but the feelings never did. Its not something i would recommend, but it is one way to live - cos what is simple in the moonlight, by the morning never is.
