Dedicated to my good gal pal ATHENATT
Man, I've wanted to draw this guy for four years now. It feels great to pull it off. He's one of my all-time favorite anime characters.
I wanted to portray him realistically, and in a different way than I feel we normally see him. I LOVE his gun, and it was hard to go without it, but it didn't seem necessary for this scenario. I mixed the cartoon designs and the manga designs to make him represent both, so in case you're wondering why his mechanical arm looks funny, it was drawn that way at one point by Nightow in the manga.
I assume that out in the desert he would get hot in that jacket. He would occasionally take a moment to rest in some alleyway in the shade, and un-button his jacket to get some air in there. Thus this portrait was born. Plus we almost never see what he wears underneath his jacket except for in the final episode, or when he locates Caine the Longshot in the hills. I got his undersuit from the actual character design sheet in the Trigun Art Book.
Here are the other TRIGUN characters:

Millions Knives:[link]
(There are colored versions of them too.)
Media: HB mechanical pencil, Ebony Pencil, Blending Stumps and a kneaded eraser
Original Size: 13x15
Paper: Canson 70lb drawing paper
Completed on 04-08-05
Wow... I'm afraid I haven't got anything more than that to add. Very stunning. I am a great fan of putting known characters in a moment of reflection/rest and seeing what happens. What happened here was a wonderful drawing with a great amount of detail and I must go this now.

Just plain awesome
The very detailed outfit of him, and also the decent background really are eye-candy
Only, the foldings of the jacket around his right elbow seem a bit flat.. But I don't know how to fix that
Still, outstanding job, mate!

A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
